We all know what we feed our cats. But if I asked you now how much your cat eats each day, what would you say?

One tin, split between two meals? A handful of dry food? A bowl that gets topped up when it is empty?

Most of us measure our cat's food by eye - a handful, a scoop, or simply what looks about right.

Weighing, or accurately measuring, your cat's food gives you certainty. You know how much goes into the bowl each day, and if your cat's weight changes, you have a baseline from which to make an adjustment.

It doesn't need to be complicated. Put the bowl on a kitchen scale, zero it, and add the food. Do the same with treats and extras.

And if you're weighing your cat once a month, knowing how much they eat gives that number much more meaning.

Don't guess. Weigh it.
